Braces & aligners

Gently moving teeth into a healthier, more comfortable smile.

If your teeth are crowded, gapped, or just don't line up the way you'd like, you have good options — and you have time to choose well. Straightening teeth is one of the kindest things you can do for both how your smile looks and how your mouth works.

What it is

Braces and aligners are two ways of gently guiding teeth into better positions over time. Braces use small brackets fixed to your teeth, connected by a thin wire that is adjusted at each visit. Clear aligners are a series of thin, see-through trays, custom-made for your mouth, that you swap every week or two — each one moving your teeth a tiny step further. Both work on the same simple idea: light, steady pressure over months allows teeth to shift safely into place.

Signs it might be for you

  • Crowded or overlapping teeth that are hard to keep clean
  • Noticeable gaps between teeth, or teeth that stick out
  • An upper and lower bite that don't meet comfortably when you close
  • Jaw or chewing discomfort that may be linked to how your teeth line up
  • You simply feel self-conscious smiling and would like that to change

How it works at Bite

  1. 1
    A calm first consultation

We start by listening to what bothers you and what you hope for. Our orthodontist examines your teeth and bite, often with photos and a digital scan, and explains honestly whether braces, aligners, or either one suits your case.

  2. 2
    Your personal plan

We walk you through the realistic options for your mouth, roughly how long treatment may take, and what daily life looks like with each. There's no pressure and no rush — you decide once you feel clear and comfortable.

  3. 3
    Fitting and getting started

If you choose braces, we attach the brackets and wire in one gentle appointment. If you choose aligners, your custom trays are made and we show you how to wear and care for them. We make sure you leave knowing exactly what to do.

  4. 4
    Steady check-ins

Teeth move best with small, regular adjustments. You'll come in every few weeks (braces) or change trays on schedule and check in periodically (aligners), so we can keep everything moving safely and answer any questions along the way.

  5. 5
    Finishing and protecting your result

When your teeth have reached their new positions, we remove the braces or finish the aligner series. Then we fit a retainer to hold the result — keeping a retainer is the part many people overlook, and it's what protects all your effort.

Recovery & aftercare

There's no real downtime — you carry on with normal life throughout. It's normal for teeth to feel tender for a day or two after braces are fitted or when starting a new aligner; soft food and a gentle painkiller usually settle it. Keeping teeth and appliances very clean matters more than ever during treatment, so we'll show you simple ways to brush around brackets or care for your trays.

Frequently asked questions

Most people feel pressure or mild tenderness for a day or two after fitting or when switching to a new aligner, not sharp pain. It settles quickly, and soft food plus a simple over-the-counter painkiller helps. If discomfort ever feels strong or lasts, message us — that's not something to just put up with.
