Veneers

Thin ceramic shells, designed to look like your best natural smile.

If you've ever wished your smile looked a little more even, brighter, or simply more like "you" on a good day, veneers are one gentle way to get there. Let me explain honestly what they are and what they aren't, so you can decide with confidence.

Ask about veneers

What it is

Veneers are very thin, custom-made shells, usually ceramic (porcelain), that bond to the front surface of your teeth. They're designed to improve the colour, shape, and alignment of your smile while keeping things looking natural. Think of them like a tailored covering for the visible part of a tooth, made to match your face, not someone else's.

Signs it might be for you

  • You feel self-conscious about the colour, shape, or small gaps in your front teeth
  • Whitening alone hasn't given you the result you hoped for
  • You have small chips, worn edges, or slightly uneven front teeth
  • You want a smile change for a specific reason, and you're comfortable with a treatment that is permanent for those teeth
  • Your gums and teeth are healthy, no untreated decay or gum disease (your dentist will confirm this first)

How it works at Bite

  1. 1
    Honest consultation

We sit down, you tell me what's bothering you and what you'd love to change. I examine your teeth and gums, take photos, and tell you honestly whether veneers are the right path for you, or whether something simpler (like whitening or a small filling) would do the job. No pressure, ever.

  2. 2
    Smile design & preview

Using digital smile design and a try-in model, we plan the shape, length, and colour together. You get to see and discuss a preview before anything is changed, so the final smile feels like a decision you made, not one made for you.

  3. 3
    Gentle preparation

For most ceramic veneers, a thin layer (often less than a millimetre) of the front of the tooth is shaped so the veneer sits flush and natural. We take precise impressions and, where needed, fit comfortable temporaries while your veneers are crafted.

  4. 4
    Bonding your veneers

At your fitting visit, we check the fit, colour, and how they feel when you bite and smile, then bond them securely. We take the time to get the small details right, because details are what make a smile look real.

  5. 5
    Final check & care plan

We review everything together, make any tiny adjustments, and I give you a simple plan to keep them looking their best for years. You leave knowing exactly how to care for them.

Recovery & aftercare

There's usually little to no downtime, most people return to normal life the same day. Some teeth feel a little sensitive to hot or cold for a few days, which typically settles on its own. Caring for veneers is wonderfully ordinary: brush and floss as usual, keep up your regular check-ups, and avoid using your teeth as tools (no opening bottles or biting hard objects). If you grind your teeth at night, a simple night guard helps protect your investment.

Why Bite

At Bite, smile design is a careful, collaborative process, not an assembly line. As a dentist and endodontist, my priority is the long-term health of your teeth first and the aesthetics second, because a beautiful smile that isn't healthy isn't a good outcome. You'll always get an honest opinion, even if that means telling you that you don't need veneers at all.

Frequently asked questions

Modern ceramic veneers are designed to be conservative, but they do involve gently shaping a thin layer of the tooth, and that change is permanent. That's exactly why we plan carefully and only recommend them when they genuinely suit you. In the right hands and with good care, the underlying tooth stays healthy and protected.
